Acoustic Digital Twin

Adding sound to 3D heritage documentation.

Acoustic Digital Twin combines spatial documentation, acoustic measurements, simulation and interactive listening to preserve not only how a historic space looks, but also how it sounds.

Project overview

From measured space to auralisation.

The project links accurate 3D documentation with real acoustic measurements and a computational acoustic model. The result is an explorable digital representation where the acoustic character of the original architecture can be studied, compared and experienced.

3D documentation Laser scanning and photogrammetry capture the geometry and visual character of the site.
Acoustic measurement Room impulse responses provide a measured reference for the real acoustic behaviour of the space.
Interactive listening Auralisation connects the digital model to the perceived sound of the architecture.
